Please be advised that our work crews will be out in District flushing water mains by opening our neighborhood fire hydrants for the next six weeks.  As part of our annual program, flushing removes harmless sediment, reduces rust, and improves water quality. If you happen to experience brown water, don’t be alarmed.  Open your cold water taps and let them run for a few minutes until the water runs clear.  On behalf of the West Hempstead Water District, thank you for your cooperation during this time.
