Pay Online

West Hempstead Water District now offers our customers the ability to pay their water bills online utilizing a secure third-party provider. All major credit cards are accepted or you may use your checking account.  A $3.95 convenience fee will be charged by our third party processor for all online payments. The District does not receive any portion of the fee.

To Set Up An Online Account

When setting up your account, you must register with your Phone Number, Account Number and On-Line Confirmation Number (which can be found on your most recent bill). If you cannot find your On-Line Confirmation Number, please call our office at: (516) 483-1180. Once you register and create a username and password, you can save your credentials to make future payments.

Pay In-Person or By Mail

Water bill payments made by check can be mailed to the District headquarters or hand delivered:

Important: 

Always mail the statement stub with your payment. If you pay your water bill through a bank or other third-party payment service that mails a check, please instruct them to include your account number on the check in order to avoid potential processing delays.

Understanding Your Bill

A. The DUE DATE represents the date the invoice is due. A lien will be placed on properties with outstanding balances every August 31st.

B. The ON-LINE ID represents the code number unique to the owner/address to grant them access to the online bill pay system.

C. The READ DATES represent the billing period dates.

D. METER READING: PREVIOUS is the reading from the last bill. CURRENT is the reading of which the present bill is based on.

E. The USAGE x 1,000 is the difference between the PREVIOUS and CURRENT meter readings. It represents how many thousands of gallons were used in this billing period.

F. The USAGE CHARGE is the cost, in dollars for the water used.

G. The CODE EXPLANATION is the type of reading. It will either be “Actual”, “Estimated” or “Final”. See I for METER SIZE/BASIC SERVICE CHARGE information.

H. The TOTAL AMOUNT DUE is what you owe on or before the DUE DATE.

I. The BASIC SERVICE CHARGE = METER SIZE is the size of the water meter that indicates the quarterly basic service charge.
