Effective January 1, 2021, WHWD Superintendent Jason Belle was named Secretary of the Long Island Water Conference (LIWC). He will serve a one year term.  West Hempstead Water District Commissioners and Superintendent are active members of LIWC; a regional organization comprised of water suppliers, engineers and officials of various governmental regulatory agencies.  “One of our major responsibilities as a water supplier is to maintain an uninterrupted supply of safe drinking water while anticipating the water concerns of future generations,” commented Superintendent Belle. “It’s an honor to serve on the Board of the LIWC and I look forward to working with my colleagues across Nassau and Suffolk Counties.”
